My biggest accomplishment in life is related to the amount of effort, sacrifice, and perseverance I put into achieving it, and that is; becoming a doctor not once but twice.

The first time, in my native country of Costa Rica, following my father’s footsteps, and the second time when I became a board-certified physician in the US. Medicine is a career of service that requires endurance; the years I spent in training definitely paid off.

I got my best advice early in my career when working as a
research lab assistant at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los
Angeles. CA, my mentor at the time, once told me: “Never stop
learning, find a niche and become an expert on the field, so people
will come looking for your wisdom”. That phrase stuck with me
and kept me motivated until this day. As a result, I specialized in Internal Medicine and subspecialized in Endocrinology, Diabetes,
and Metabolism. I continued to advance my professional education
by obtaining board certifications in Obesity Medicine, Clinical
Nutrition, and Herbal Medicine and in recent years, expanding my
expertise in the immense world of nutraceuticals.

As a highly-driven professional woman who strives for
excellence, I completely understand the importance of health
optimization. Currently, I dedicate my time between counseling
women how to achieve their superwoman potential by integrating
conventional, complementary, and alternative medicine modalities
and also serving as a consultant for wellness and nutraceutical
companies within and outside the US. My goal is to close the gap
between conventional and alternative medicine by becoming a
source of knowledge for my patients and the public in general.
